Misbehaviour

Today being the weekend of the end of the Ramadan the park is full of people, there are few days in a year when you wish not to go out in a game drive and this is one of them
People self driving or with a drivers that does not have a clue of what the bush is and how to behave in a sighting are all over the place. Potentially we could have had a super morning, we had hyenas, we had lions with cubs close to the road but so other cars arrived and it was so uncivilized that we decided to leave and go for breakfast, when we went back the lions were gone, obviously pushed off by cars getting too close and by people being too loud.At the beginning of the river drive the big buffalo herd was coming down from the hills, was superb, we could see all of them in a long line coming down, the compact front of the pathfinders leading them to water. They came with steady pace, clouds of dust surrounding them, as noisy as ever, it was just like a huge infantry battalion marching in lines of tens, all the way down from the hill. Again cars arrived and went driving in front of the herd instead of waiting farther, thus forcing the herd back, this happened several times and in the end the herd backed off and gave up the idea of drinking. They went back and stopped to rest at the base of the hill, it was a pity for them, for us and for 4 lioness that were waiting the other side of the river. The sighting was excellent nonetheless.

In the afternoon one fat lion at mdonya juu, his brother some kilometers far, even fatter on a rotten giraffe carcass and eventually as the cherry on the cake a beautiful leopard on top of a granite boulder..
