Fab 4

Today was a great day in a way and a worrying one in another way. We heard lions roaring loudly before sunrise so we headed down towards mbagi. After few minuteswe spotted three males in the first light, we approached them as usual but they run away, we were a bit surprised because the kwihala pride males are quite relaxed. They heade towards the sand river and when the started crossing in full light a fourth male joined them. All of them massive and handsome males, with full mane and huge bodies... they are not the dominants of this area. Nobody has seen these males before and this is the reason why they were so skittish.
They are fabulous, amongst the best males if not the best males around, we lost them the other side of the river so we went around and found them again. We could see them but sill they were playing hide and seek and move farther so we decided to leave them.
Great, great males... but now if this males are here and roaring that means they are claiming this territory and this means very bad news for the resident males and even worst news for the kwihala cubs.... if the fab 4 take over all the cubs will die.
.

In the afternoon we had wonderful lions again but this time in mwayembe, wonderful light, cub playing with adults, lions drinking and eventually a lioness stalking a giraffe in the most beautiful light ever... what a day... and we found the fab 4 again in the way back
