Today was hot, "only a mad dog or a english man" kind of hot, we saw lions twice and little other all the morning.
Was so hot that when we stopped for breakfast I spotted a small frog hiding in the windy shade of the bullbar.... just funny... looked like it wanted the breeze from the car's movement.. It was so small, I caught it to release it in the bushy riverine edge but she readily jumped on my shirt......
One lion was a quite sad sighting, a young male with what looked like a badly broken leg, did not look as if it will make it... but in the end we are not god and not even vets so we still bear hope that he will recover.
Was only about 12.00 that good luck turned towards us, we got a leopard. As usual it was on a sausage tree, wonderful even in the dull midday light. A carcass of impala stashed on a fork it was busy cleaning its paw.... and then it was taken by pure madness, it run up a branch and started chasing one sausage fruit, trying to grab it, to bite it, unbalancing out of the branch almost to the point of no return. It almost fell down twice but eventually managed to hold the sausage in the jaws, happiness lasted few second because it soon lost the grip and the fruit went straight down to the ground. Now madness went even worst and he run full speed up another branch, all the way to the tip, to a point where the branch was dangerously bent, barely able to stand the cat's weight.. and again it was after a sausage.. only after ten minutes of this it went quite and sleepy. Today the the mad was the cat.

We found quite a big ellephant bull and nice herds of impala as always shining in the sunset.
Rob and Sue came to visit me for lunch, I was happy like a kid.
