We got the first one after one hour or something, a lioness on a giraffe kill, too late for real action though. She is fed and the only effort she does is in chasing a single hooded vulture that keeps coming to the carcass.
No lions in the first forest but in the second one we spotted a big herd of buffaloes drinking, they are around 400. We immediately got excited and looked for lions, sadly to no avail, the only one is the bold male of bushbuck pride (also called 2 forests pride). He is sleeping under a lebombo wattle but very far from the buffs.
.
Eventually on the way back to camp we found two lioness at w7, they are Evander and Shaya (we now call her Holy because it is easier and we never remember the other name). They are hungry but seem to be quite unefficient in theyr hunting tasks, they spooked giraffes, warthog and zebras in a row. We waited around three hours but then we left because we were told about spotted cats in mbagi. We first saw leopard up on a tamarind tree and then found the 4 cheetahs in the open plains. They tried to hunt kudus, the position was perfect, the mother properly hidden but the cubs spoiled everything trying to to their own move... they are learning but we would have liked more them to practice another day.
At sunset we picked up Riaan and went at Owen's camp for a boys party. A party of three people but still a party. It was very nice, good food, good drinks and good friends.
While we were happily drinking our whisky and soda, lions started roaring within fifty meters, we went for a closer look and we spotted in the beam of the torch one male and two females. Back at the fireplace we peacefully went on drinking and talking and eventually the big male came to join us, he walked less then 10 meters from us in the light of the fire. Good fun
