Guests wanted to see sables so we set off early morning, direction Makinde springs. Lions where roaring in mbagi so we went straight down, found fresh tracks, followed them and got the lions... actually one of the guests spotted them first.... I was still looking at tracks on the road... useless.
Anyway we got this 11 lions, they were walking and i thought they wee going to drink so I anticipated them and went to wait at the maji ya nyegere (badger mudhole). After few seconds they dutyfully arrived and we watched the sunrise together. Soon we were on the road again.... same as some weeks ago... makinde... no sable... road to magangwe.... no sable....road to jongo... no sable... mkwawa spring... no sable... they must be on strike.
I felt sad for my guest because he really wanted to see them. Going on in our full day we got lions mating and again the lions of the morning... they walked on the river bed at festo crossing and three more joined them from the other side. Was quite cool.
