It would have been he third boring day in a row if it was not for the fact that Micol came for lunch with Alex, the new assistant manager and my two old friends Jan and Roger. They are fantastic people with a huge heart, they were wild dog researchers in the serengeti in the 80' and 90'. Their stories about africa and his knowledge about wildlife and dogs is so amazing that you can listen to them for hours. I really love them.
After they left we worked a bit in camp and then went for a bit of training.
Nice kudu herd, the male was huge but with a broken horn, the good one though was rally big with very large spirals. We got elephants in mbagi, a small breeding herd dust bathing, the matriarch went on her knees spearing the soil to make it loose and the fed on it to get mineral salts, very interesting behaviour to see and explain to trainees.
They were so beautiful in the last bit of light.
Back in camp we just spent a bit of time checking out a yellow winged bat perching on a branch and suddenly flying out to catch insect just to be back on the same spot to chew its meal.
