Longest morning ever

My morning lasted almost ten hours, we started at six to reach msembe where we had to fetch the ranger for a walk. (do not have the rifle here yet). We walked along the river towards the bridge ina cloudy and super humid day. Walking was fine, not exactly the thing I mean as a walking safari but still fine. The thing I miss here is the freedom of walking where you want, following an established path as we did today destroys a bit the feeling. Anyway the landscapes were stunning as usual and we had a couple of close encounters with hippos in shallow water.
Back to thecar Ayoub from Mdonya told us that there was their pride of lions on the road close to kisabuni. With the guests we decided to go there even if it was already 11 am and it was more then an hour drive considering all the rain that came last night.
The decision was REWARDING!! more then 20 lions and thr two big males Kaka and Pua where spread both sides of the road. The nest thing was that they kept moving from one side of the road to the other without any apparent reason to settle eventually on the northern side.
.

All the lions stood up and walked at least once except Pua that never moved a single inch.
We also saw an egyptian moongoose crossing the road just in ront of the car.
A morning lasting from 6 to 3.30 when we arived to camp, made the happy guests giving up the afternoon activity.
A bit of rain forced us to eat under the canvas roof, but still with all the open sides.
A sneeze, we heard a sneeze from outside our "shelter" were was supposed to be only wilderness, I shined my torch and to our surprise we saw 5 lionesses walking 20 mtrs from us in the darkness. I love that and I loved the roaring that starte from behind us little bit later.
We went to check, we couldn't see the male but we saw a lesser bushbaby.
What a great night after a long morning
