Everything again

After a couple of days like the last 2 you expect a dull one.... NOT HERE.
The 2 lepard, mother and cub again in the same tree, the cub is actually down walking back and forth in the grass. There is a new impala carcass on the rain tree....
I have 4 super guests and the drive is super fun....
we ended up getting the same 2 females of 2 days a go but this time with three cubs of around 3 months and one cute little thing of around 3 weeks.
Then Mapalala called me into sighting.... the four cheetahs again. Not as cool as yesterday, there a re many cars around so we decided to stay only ten minutes, but still was special.
In the afternoon after a brief drive with a nice lesser kudu.... was again the leopards and the rain tree time.... the cub played hide and seek with us for half an hour, focused on what she was seeing in the car. Not even a big elephant bull shaking a palm moved her attention. The mother went up and down the tree
There are no words left in my mouth......

Four cheetahs in one morning

Driving towards breakfast point with three guests, a couple of honeymooners (the DikDiks) and the sister of a coastal pilot, it is cold, the sun is just rising when with the corner of the eye I spotted something on a rock, I reversed to check, the rock is around 50 mtrs from the road and on top of it there are 4 cheetahs..... not one or two... 4 cheetahs. A female and three well grown cubs.
They moved and we started following them, we actually preceded them in order not to scare them. It was unbelievable, they started climbing big granite boulder, one after the other to get a better view of the surrounding. The light was perfect. We followed them for at least one hour and then after resting a bit in an open plain they veered off towards thick bush and we lost them.
They were still looking for something to hunt but all around was completely empty of game. Nonetheless I believe she will manage to pull down something, she must be an amazing mother to be able to bring three cub almost to the adult stage.
.

In the afternoon with two more guests in the car we had an awsome encounter with a mother elephant and her calf, I stopped the car 5 meters in front of her and she came a bit aggressively, I started talking to her, she relaxed but kept coming closer, when she was one meter and a half from us I went a bit louder and put my hand out, she stopped and strectched the trunk a little bit, raised it and started smelling my hand from a couple of centimeters, man, I felt the air when she exhaled.... from the car only silence, not even a single click from a camera. After some seconds, she moved around the car, completely at ease and went feedin on palm fruits leaving us absolutely breahless from the overflow of emotions. Man, that's life.
We also saw the kipunji pride, the 2 leopards again, mother and cub on the same rain tree and is not even all, eventually we got the two lioness with the cubs eating a zebra foal almost in the darkness (thanks Owen). I only forgot to mention that in the morning we also saw 2 honey baaaaadgeeeer.

Four leopards in one morning

Guineafowls went ballistic this morning and woke me up, I went out of the tent just to see a female leopard walking past silently... good start of the day, leopard number 1.
Start driving with 2 guests towards the airstrip, payed a visit to the tree where leopards were yesterday and there they are agai with a small impala kill.... the day goes even better, leopards number 2 and 3. The cub plays with the carcass up and down the tree... the mother looks annoyed by the goofyness of the cub.
We decide to move off and no more then three kilometers farther we got the leopard number 4, just over the road in a kigelia tree, perfectly visible on a clear branch. He is a nice male, all focused on some impalas.... the beauty of his coat's pattern and the depth of his eyes are capturing, when he climbs higher in the dense foliage we leave towards the airstrip.
Man, this place is insane.
